About this demo
A course that fits on one page.
ZenLMS is a minimalist, text-first learning management system. It borrows from Basecamp, where one page shows the whole course, and from Douban: dense text, dotted section headers, plain lists.
What you’re looking at
Every screen from the ZenLMS design, linked together so you can click through it like the real thing. Nothing is built yet, and all the data is made up.

Ticks, filters, drafts and quiz answers work, and they’re remembered in this browser until you reset the demo. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Where to start
Finding your way
Two small buttons sit in the bottom-right corner of every screen.
Waypoints outline everything you can click on the current screen:
- goes to another screen (hover to see which)
- changes something on this screen
Screens lists all of them, marks the ones you’ve opened, and steps through them in order. It also has Reset demo data.

Things to try
- Tick off this week’s readings on the course home and watch the count change.
- Take the reading check, then open the Week 5 module it belongs to.
- Open the bell, filter it, and mark things done.
- Read feedback on a paper and ask for a regrade.
- As the teacher, schedule an announcement and grade a reflection.
- Edit next week’s module or import a course from Canvas.
- See the course home on a small screen.
Feedback
This is a design in progress, and rough reactions help most. Some questions worth answering:
- Where did you get lost, or look for something that wasn’t there?
- Which screen felt too dense, and which felt too sparse?
- What would you miss from the LMS you use now?
- As a teacher, what would slow you down in week 5 of a real term?
